@Jeff G. and Ronhjones: I've undeleted this article. Deleting on the grounds of unsourced, by itself, is a piss-poor reason to kill a page. The topic is obviously very notable being discussed in numerous books and scholarly works. Besides which, the page is hardly more than a navigation aid to relevant articles.
